Studio Milo maintains a lovely studio in a renovated industrial building by the water in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Our studio has great views of the water and the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.
Our space has wireless internet access, clean slop sinks, well maintained bathrooms, freight elevators, and 24/7 access.
Our studio provides each artist with her own private space, and we maintain an open and airy space. Partitions are allowed, but we try not to overdo it. We try to keep a balance between privacy and openness.
The studio is quiet. We do not allow uses that create too much noise or dust. Thus, woodworking and photography are often not a good fit.
Although there are up to 18 artists in the studio, it is rare for more than 3 artists to be in the studio at any given time. This is surprising to new studio-mates. But it is really true. The amount of aloness and privacy is a big benefit of the space (along with the price).
Every year, we open for two days to the public as part of the DUMBO Art Under the Bridge Festival.
